Artist

Fátima Rodrigo is a visual artist based in Lima, whose practice explores the postcolonial representation of modernism and gender identity. Drawing from vernacular celebrations and the visual language of show business—such as glitter, sequins, beads, and ornamental excess—Rodrigo has developed a vocabulary that challenges the power regimes naturalized by artistic modernity. In Rodrigo’s installations and textile works, these materials, often dismissed as decorative or feminine, function as critical tools that expose ideological hierarchies. Rodrigo was selected as one of Salta art’s 2026 artists-in-residence at AIR-M Ebenböckhaus in Munich.
