Fátima Rodrigo is a visual artist based in Lima, whose practice explores the representation of modernity and gender identity specially in Latin America. Drawing from popular celebrations and the visual language of show business—such as glitter, sequins, beads, and ornamental excess—Rodrigo has developed a vocabulary that challenges the power regimes naturalized by art History. In Rodrigo’s installations and textile works, these materials, often dismissed as decorative, function as critical tools that expose ideological hierarchies. Rodrigo was selected as one of Salta art’s 2026 artists-in-residence at AIR-M Ebenböckhaus in Munich.
