Alfredo Jaar is an artist, architect, and filmmaker who lives and works in New York. Jaar is known for politically-charged conceptual art exploring humanitarian crises, media ethics, and global inequality, often through large-scale installations, photography, and film. His work has been shown extensively around the world. The artist has realized more than 70 public interventions internationally, over 80 monographic publications have been published about his work and his artworks can be found in major international private and institutional collections. In 2024, Jaar presented his public intervention Chiaroscuro, 2024 in an exhibition hosted by Salta art, and curated by Espacio Temporal as part of Various Others Munich.
