Carmen Arias (Santander, Spain, 1999) is an artist living and working in Munich. Her practice spans sculpture, installation, performance, and sound, engaging with the city as a constructed body shaped by political, social, and historical forces. Working with materials such as latex, ceramics, plaster, concrete, steel, and sound, she draws from overlooked architectural and infrastructural elements—manholes, ladders, pipes, ventilation systems, underground passages—transforming them through shifts in scale, material, and function. Arias was awarded the inaugural 2026 Salta art Studio Grant.
