Cecilia Vicuña is a poet, activist, and artist based in New York and Santiago, Chile. Vicuña’s practice is committed to a variety of feminist forms and methodologies, and considers pressing issues such as ecological destruction, human rights, and cultural homogenization. She is well known for her fibre art quipus, knotted or unknotted strings, palabrarmas and precarios, made from natural, delicate materials. Her poetic practice is inseparable from her visual and sonic explorations. In April 2026, Vicuña presented a reading with Salta art in Luitpoldblock, Munich. Additionally Salta art, in collaboration with Haus der Kunst, presented a conversation between Vicuña, Sandra Vásquez de la Horra, and Haus der Kunst senior curator Jana Baumann at Haus der Kunst, Munich.
