




Sandra Vásquez de la Horra is an internationally acclaimed artist based in Berlin. She studied visual communication in Chile before moving to Germany, where she attended the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. Her works have been exhibited globally, including at the 59th Venice Biennale (2022), the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, and the Denver Art Museum. She has received awards like the Hans Theo Richter Prize (2021) and the Käthe Kollwitz Prize (2023). Her art is featured in major collections, including MoMA in New York and Tate Modern in London. Recent solo exhibitions include The Murmur of the Cosmos (2024) and The Awake Volcanoes (2024). The 2025-26 exhibition Sandra Vásquez de la Horra. Soy Energía at Haus der Kunst in Munich is the first comprehensive show of her work in Europe. In 2026, Vásquez de la Horra contributed to Salta art’s publication Encounters, Vol I, together with curator Jana Baumann, and appeared in conversation with Cecilia Vicuña in April 2026 as part of Salta art’s event Sandra Vásquez de la Horra and Cecilia Vicuña in conversation, moderated by Jana Baumann in collaboration with Haus der Kunst, Munich.
