Gala Berger is an Argentinian-born artist, curator, and researcher based in Lima and Mexico City. Gala’s work is deeply rooted in Latin America, and she actively creates independent spaces to develop her projects. She is a member of the activist collective Retablos por la memoria, which produces street interventions for human rights in Peru, and of the experimental project, Colección Cooperativa, an art collection of collective property. Co-founder of Casa MA [2018-2025], dedicated to diverse identities in Central America. She was a fellow at the ICI Kampala, Uganda, in 2022, and at the RAW Acadèmie CURA #6, Senegal, in 2019. Gala has also worked extensively in Buenos Aires, where she is co-founder of La Ene experimental museum (New Energy Museum of Contemporary Art, 2010 – 2020) and co-founder of the Paraguay Printed Art Fair. Gala has held individual and group exhibitions in Munich, Santo Domingo, São Paulo, Lima, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Seoul, Querétaro, Sorocaba, Medellín, Montreal, Tampere, Río de Janeiro, San Juan, San José, Ciudad de Guatemala, Stockholm, Santiago, Rosario, among others. Berger was selected by the Salta art jury to participate in the AIR-M Ebenböckhaus artist residency in Munich from July to September 2025.
